A magazine where a closer look broadens the horizon, Longue Vue peeks back on Polène’s creative adventures. Each year, the brand will publish a new issue, available in bilingual format.
To celebrate the first issue, Polène is releasing “Leather Stationery”, a world at the intersection of sensual leather and poetic paper. This workshop-style boutique will open in Paris at 67 Rue Montmartre on 4 March, followed by London in the heart of the 74–76 Regent Street boutique on 8 March.
Once the threshold is crossed, the plays on perspectives begin. In Paris, the entrance opens with a paper corridor leading to a reading nook where visitors can discover the Longue Vue magazine, or listen to a reading of one of its chapters. The spyglass-shaped counter, in a nod to the Longue Vue name, also features in the workshop-style boutique in London, hidden behind a bright paper screen akin to a blank page.
“Leather Stationery” offers a unique opportunity for a personalised notebook cover with a Polène artisan ready and waiting. Visitors first select a colour, then watch on as the artisans hand-weave the edges and delicately emboss the cover with the Longue Vue emblem. Meanwhile, “The Painter” charms are created in real time at a workbench.
“Leather Stationery” presents an exclusive collection. Inspired by the magazine itself, postcards and posters take the imagination on a journey. Designed to look like trompe-l’œil stones, colourful pencils – from a collaboration between Polène and Korean brand Odujej – catch the eye. Rounding out the collection in leather, there’s a notebook cover to keep thoughts safe, as well as origami-style stickers, and charms to see everyday life through a new lens.
“Play of Perspectives”, the first edition of Longue Vue
This issue balances microscopic details with a macroscopic vision. From conversations with artists and artisans to maps inspiring wanderlust, the magazine uses creative formatting to allow the content to shine. Across its pages, the people behind the brand share their unique points of view. The introduction from Italian philosopher Emanuele Coccia sets the tone. In the centre spread, illustrator William Luz has hidden the emblematic shapes of Polène’s bags within a colour-in landscape. And for a stimulating time-out, novelist Aude Walker has penned a tale as touching as it is entertaining.
